RFI -LED Can Lights - ferrite bead? d.lowrey@cox.net on 17/7/24
Hello,
I will be installing two LED can lights in my shack ceiling. The power will be jumped from a 15A lighting circuit used for several rooms of the house.

Is it ok and safe to put a snap-on ferrite bead on the 14/2 wire feeding each LED light?
If so, what size bead and strength?

Would it be effective? The LED light would generate the RFI, so choking the incoming power would do nothing. Do I have this right?
Thanks for your input.

Antenna under Roof d.lowrey@cox.net on 2/7/24
Hello,
I am a new Tech KK7NTU, but will be moving up to General in the fall.
With that in mind, I am thinking about how to get a decent DX antenna in the space under the roof.
Here is the problem. Our house is within an HOA located in the southwestern US. Single story house with a truss system roof, concrete roof tiles, meaning there is no attic and very little space to squeeze my body to move around under the roof.

I am thinking that I can get a wire near the roof peak in a north-east, south-west orientation with a length of about 30'. Also, I might be able to run a second antenna at 90 degrees to the previously described, but with a length of only about 20 feet.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Tune for what bands, designs and maybe post a link to an information source.
Thank you for taking time to answer.
