Since 1948, the Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club has been engaging radio and electronic hobbyists in the region, participating in public service events, and holding one of the longer term hamfests in the Mid-Atlantic region. We are happy to see new people join the hobby, and assist or mentor new hams at any point along their lifetime journeys with amateur radio!

We are blessed to have had donations and contributions over the years that have afforded us the opportunity and ability to maintain a club house in Winchester, Virginia (2925 Grace Street), with two ham radio rooms, enabling multiple radios to operate HF. We invite amateurs and prospective amateurs to join us and operate our stations.

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, all in-person club gatherings were suspended in March of 2020. In May, 2020, the club resumed regular membership meetings online using Zoom. In 2021, we resumed in-person meetings, continuing Zoom as an option for those with continued concern about COVID-19.

We meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month 7:30 PM local time in Winchester. Regardless of your interests in amateur radio, you'll find a welcoming bunch at the Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club, and we hope to see you soon!
